Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Are you ready to be loved and hugged by a big, black panther kitty?
Meet Mirlo, one of the sweetest most loving mellow felines you could ever imagine!
Dear sweet Mirlo came to us from a high kill shelter . . . he would have been killed due to some skin problems and then the scarring you see. Once here at our sanctuary and seen by our vet, we feel that the scaring on his face and neck, as well as some damaged skin on his ear flaps, is probably due to some past burns. We cannot be sure of what happened to him, but it was either chemical burns or even a house fire.
What we DO know for sure, is that what Mirlo lacks in looks, he makes up for in personality. He is a very large 16-17 lb cat who loves hugging. Yes, that is right. He will get up on his hind legs to reach towards your chest for hugs. He also loves to nuzzle, and cuddle and be very close to any person that will love on him. At night he will want to be close to you in bed and will "knead" you for hours if you let him. A testament to his great personality is that when you say "No,Mirlo" and move him away, he listens . . . kind of like a dog. And when you call him, he will come to you.
Our vet thinks Mirlo is about 7 years old and other than the looks of his skin, he is in very good health. He tested negative for Felv and FIV, vaccinated, microchipped and de-flead.
Mirlo would love for someone to give him a chance . ... to look past his outer appearance and see those beautiful eyes and the soul behind them.
We did not list Mirlo as a special needs cat, because he doesn't need anything but love and a really good grain free diet. He adores, absolutely loves, canned food . .. . so he will need this too.
We do not know how he is with dogs; we feel confident he would be good with older children. Here at our sanctuary, he is okay with the other cats. .. not dominant at all. He probably would be good with another mellow cat or two, in his new home.
