My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harriet is a 2 year old sweet terrier mix. She's just a gem with beautiful golden eyes who absolutely LOVES people. Love is not a strong enough word: she'll roll over at your feet, she wants to sit next to you on the couch and will make her way into your lap, she will hug you, she will snuggle you, she likes to be picked up and held; extreme affection!

Harriet is a tiny girl, about 14 pounds. She's very food motivated, so training will be a breeze. She will let you know when she needs to go potty and won't potty in her own space. She's been a perfect mom to five babies.

She's very independent and hasn't played much with the other dogs in her foster home, but definitely gets along fine with them. She's met other dogs too, and it can take a little while for her to get comfortable with them - she bonds with people very quickly.

She loves car rides and walks (she’s great on a leash) and enjoys exploring places (like parks and yards). Would you like to meet Harriet?

Founded in June, 2000, Georgetown Animal Outreach, (GAO) is a non-profit (I.R.S. sec. 501,c,3) volunteer group located in Georgetown, Texas. Our mission is to support and enhance the services provided by the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter and other local organizations dedicated to the welfare of animals.

The GAO Adoption Application process helps us determine which pets will be the most compatible with your family and lifestyle. The animal's welfare is our primary consideration when placing it into a home so some applicants may be refused if we feel the home is not well suited for the animal. GAO reserves the right to refuse an applicant without further explanation.
Basic adoption criteria:
You must be 21 years of age or older
You must be able to present identification showing your present address
All members of the household must agree to adopt the animal
If you rent, you must provide GAO with adoption consent from your landlord, if applicable
There is an adoption fee that covers medical care (like spays/neuters, shots, and heart worm and flea preventatives). These fees are considerably lower than the actual costs associated with each animal. We subsidize our rescues through fundraising and donations.
    $95 for mixed breed dogs
    $150 for puppies
    $200 for pure breed dogs
    $85 for cats and kittens
Georgetown Animal Outreach is a 501c3 (tax deductible) organization and your adoption contribution is tax deductible. All animals will be vaccinated and spayed/neutered. However, we cannot guarantee the health of these animals. Most came from regional animal shelters and might have a short history in our foster program. Of course, we hope they are healthy and have done our best to provide them with good health care and shelter. All have been examined by a
