Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Holly is a classic mutt, but her predominant breeds seem to be Labrador and Pit Bull. She is roughly 3 years old, spayed, up to date on shots, and a smaller girl weighing less than 50lbs.
Holly was found by her previous foster family 18 months ago. She was in a field acting "strange", so they went over to investigate and found her lying helplessly with a very tight rope around her neck, deeply embedded into her skin. The rope was tied to a thin cable that appeared to have been cut. She had clearly been wearing the rope for a very long time, tied up somewhere, before someone cut her loose. Luckily her foster family cut the rope off of her neck, revealing open neck wounds all around, but they were able to nurse her back to health and give her a temporary home. They had her spayed and did their best to find her a suitable home. Recently they surrendered her to our rescue due to an unsuccessful forever home search, and her "issues with cats".
Today she is a very happy, healthy girl. Holly is very laid back, very low energy, and very low maintenance. She spends most of her day lounging quietly around the house, but loves a good snuggle as well. She is great with kids and great with other dogs. I have not seen her with cats, but her foster family said cats was a no. I have seen her with small animals (rabbits, baby birds, etc.) and I agree with them that she should probably not be with cats, and definitely not with any loose small animals.
Holly would be perfect for; a calm, quiet home, a family with small children, a companion for a calm, lazy dog, a companion for an elderly dog, possibly a small-game hunting dog, a companion for an elderly family, just a front porch buddy.
She would not be a good match for; an active family (no hiking buddy here), a high-energy dog, someone with cats.
If you are interested in meeting or adopting Holly, please email, call, text, or visit our website at www.thedyerpack.wix.com/online where you can find our adoption application to fill out under the ADOPT tab. If you aren't interested in adopting Holly, please spread the word about her!
