My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Buffy, the Tick Slayer. She is a beautiful, small terrier mix who is truly a warrior and survivor. Buffy has survived many bites by blood sucking ticks. She was found in a remote, rural area of Missouri.
We aren’t sure how long she was on that quest until she was found, but she was covered in ticks. Every inch of her small body had a tick attached. When found she seemed to walk stiffly and by the time she got to our Watcher, Kristi, a couple of days later, Buffy could no longer stand or walk. Kristi rushed her to a vet to find out that she had tick paralysis. This is not an infection, but a neurotoxin secreted from the tick’s saliva after they have been feeding for several days. Removing the ticks was done immediately and Buffy quickly started to improve. Within a couple of days she was running as if nothing had ever happened. She still carries the battle scars of many scabs from the healing tick bites. We have tested Buffy for all the tick borne infections and they have all come back negative.
Buffy is a petite terrier at only 9 pounds which makes us think she is a Toy Fox Terrier mix. Buffy is about 3 years old and now fully vetted. She has been spayed, is up to date on vaccinations and had a negative heartworm test. She is microchipped.
If your Scooby gang is in need of a Slayer, Buffy is ready to join the group. She is so grateful for her second chance on life that she will reward you with kisses, unconditional loyalty and love. Buffy is an active girl who loves to be outdoors as long as you provide her with the wooden stake of flea and tick preventative to allow her to keep killing those ticks.
