Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi Everyone!
My name is Smudgie (Smudge for short). I am REACHING out for a FOREVER HOME!
For some reason my first family decided they didn’t want me anymore and dumped me out in the country to fend for myself. That is pretty hard to do after living in a house situation! Everything was SO SCARY! I first lived in an abandoned house until a bulldozer came and knocked it down….I ESCAPED! Then I hid in brush under trees until the bulldozer knocked all of those down, too…..I ESCAPED AGAIN! FRIGHTENED more and more each day, I then moved on to hide in some brush behind a garage and that, my friends reading this, is when I realized I had at least ONE Lucky Star! In my new hiding area food would appear which kept me from starving and a kind voice frequently whispered to me.
Over many months I became accustomed enough to this new lifestyle change to take a closer peek at where the soft calming voice was coming from but never trusting enough to experience another life change. As the nights got colder and scarier, the kind voice I often heard became a voice of worry. Curious and hungry on what was yet the coldest night I had experienced, I ventured out for food and I was CAUGHT in a live trap! That initial experience caused my “9-Lives” to quickly pass before my eyes and I became MORE SCARED THAN I HAVE EVER BEEN! Not knowing it then but I sure do know it now, my 2nd Lucky Star had just appeared.
For many more months following being trapped, the kind voice and food continued. I was given continuous shelter and started receiving something called “vet care” which made me start to feel a lot better. During my “vet care”, a discovery was made that gives me the label of a “Special Needs” cat. I was diagnosed with FIV (Feline Immuneodeficiency Virus). I have learned that the big word is much scarier looking than it actually is. I can live a long and healthy life if well cared for. I am currently healthy and a continued healthy diet and routine vet care is what I need to help me stay this way. Being a “FIV Special Cat” I will need to be the only cat or live in a home with other FIV kitties.
With all of this, the kind voice never gave up on me. The gift of PATIENCE helped me to begin trusting again, playing again, and loving life again! So, in my FOREVER HOME I am requesting PATIENCE to help me to continue living as an even HAPPIER CAT.
Now, it is time for me to move on and let my story continue. I have experienced TWO Lucky Stars, the one that saved me from the bulldozers, the one that cared for me, believed in me, and offered me PATIENCE. I’ve heard of a saying that “THREE’s a CHARM”….so I am in search of my 3rd Lucky Star, a FOREVER HOME!
I sure hope you can be my Loving Forever Home (3rd Lucky Star) and if you can’t, maybe you can pass my story and cute pictures on and help me find someone who can. To learn more about me contact Lois at Lois@friendsofnoah-wi.org.
Sincerely,
ONE SPECIAL KITTY, SMUDGE!
