Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Odessa! Her name comes from the word Odyssey because this young girl has already had a grand adventure in her short 7-8 months of life. Her story as far as we know starts at the county park where she was running as a stray. She got picked up by animal control and taken to the local shelter. She was a very lucky girl though because while at the park she had meet a volunteer with Bluegrass Humane Society. So once she was in the shelter and her stray hold was up with nobody to claim her Bluegrass Humane Society stepped in to pull her and the volunteer offered to foster her. She has passed the safer assessment with flying colors. Her only major issue is that she is a dominant dog. She is ok with submissive dogs and will play with them without any problems once she sees they aren't going to challenge her. But if the other dogs growl even if it is a playful growl she sees it as a threat and is ready for a fight. She is not good with cats, she is way too interested and focused on them. She wants to play and chase them but if they hiss/growl and especially if they smack her she wants to fight them. Most of this is workable and with training and supervision she will be fine. She did well in the house and was able to settle down after getting her energy run off. I don't know if she is house trained but she is smart and should catch on easy. Her canine-ality assessment shows her to be a free spirit. Free Spirits are intelligent, independent, confident and clever, they prefer making their own decisions but will listen to you if you make a good case. Odessa is looking for a partner in her adventure and if you treat her like one you will both live happily ever after.
