My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Maverick! This little 42 lb. man was about to be euthanized at a high kill facility in Roswell, NM, but luckily we were able to bring him into our rescue before that happened! Maverick was adopted to a very great family back in 2015 but they have small kiddos and Maverick is a little too hyper to be around little babies.

Maverick is so sweet once he gets to know you; he's a little scared of new people at first, so he'd do best with a household that doesn't have a lot of new people coming and going. If you're his human, he's your best friend! Maverick's ears are absolutely awesome and his personality is even better. He is an energetic dog that loves to play. He also knows a TON of tricks (sit, down, shake, high five, wait, sit pretty, kennel, spin, roll over, etc). He gets along well with other dogs and does well with cats too. Maverick's favorite thing is to play with his toys and then curl up into a little ball next to his human! He is potty trained, neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and very healthy!

Our adoption process begins with you meeting Maverick. Feel free to schedule a play date with him and your existing dog(s) if they are friendly. After you fill out an application, we will verify your references and do a brief home inspection. If all goes well, we will deliver Maverick to you for a small adoption fee. You will also have the option to purchase a large wire kennel for an additional fee. We then ask that you sign our adoption contract. We will do a follow-up visit approximately two weeks to one month after the adoption to insure that Maverick is adjusting well to his new home and that he is happy and healthy.

We feel our adoption process is the best way to vet good owners and to guard against people seeking dogs for dog fighting, bait dogs, and/or dog sales. We only have our rescue dogs' best interest in mind and we do everything we can to insure that they go to the very best home and that it's the perfect fit.
