Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blitz is a beautiful adult small breed mix boy weighing about 15 lbs. Blitz has had one of the most horrible neglected life experiences a dog can have, as spending 4 years in a "shelter" in Korea (survival for a dog this small is nothing next to amazing). Blitz was left at the shelter by an owner, who wouldn't surrender ownership, and therefore, the shelter couldn't post Blitz. He deteriorated for a year or two, until he was unable to be handled at which point his owner surrendered him. Blitz was then able to be posted, but waited another 2 years in misery for a home. Because foster homes are so very hard to come by in Korea, Blitz could not even get out of the "shelter" to have medical issues treated, despite an awesome group of people that pledged to cover all his medical bills.
At Christmas time 2013, our rescue was browsing profiles looking for one dog that we could really make a difference for - Blitz stood out after reading things like this: "There's not much to say about Blitz other than he is completely, utterly miserable. This little guy has always alienated himself by barking at people. Yes, it's true. But he is surely just a scared little dog who doesn't know how to react or behave in the hell that is his life, and has been for the past 3-4 years. Now he has green eyes - I'm guessing severe conjunctivitis - and needs more help than ever. He needs a home where the person can be patient and give him his space. He will not transform immediately into a lapdog looking for cuddles. He will likely not trust you for a long time. There are some special folks out there..." This convinced us that Blitz needed to be CTAREs special xmas project. You can read more about Blitz and his history here: http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/dog/1459
Blitz spent December 2013 to May 2014 at a wonderful vet in Korea, slowly working his way back to healthy, growing fur back, and learning to trust SOME people. May 7 2014 he came to Canada for his long awaited chance at a new life.
Blitz seems so LOVE LOVE LOVE women (once he knows them). However he is still cautious with most (all?) men. He loves to run and play, has a generally happy nature, and loves balls and squeaky toys. He is very food motivated, and doesnt seem to be food or toy possessive. Blitz really should NOT be around children as we don't know enough about his past history. I think he would be ok around cats, and he does well with other dogs, though he doesn't play as much with them as he does with himself (chasing a ball etc.)
Blitz did have an autoimmune issue that can cause skin flare up, but they are easily treatable IF they happen, with 1-2 weeks on medication. This is a good site for info on this issue: http://www.vmcli.com/veterinary-articles-pemphigus-foliaceus.html (it is something Daxies can be predisposed to).
Blitz's total cost to our rescue totaled approx $500 to date. Without the help of animal lovers like yourself, our rescue cannot help all the animals that come to us in need. If you would like to make a donation to help us help dogs, PLEASE stop by our vet, or phone in to donate via credit card: Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic, 45793 Luckakuck Way, Chilliwack BC (604-824-5848). Donating is easy, just tell them you would like to make a donation to Carried Through Animal Rescue's account.
Blitz's adoption fee is $120 and you can see more pictures of him here:
