Meet Rocket - aka Rocky - currently being fostered in Northeastern Illinois. Rocky is a big, sweet, gorgeous red and white BC, possibly mixed with English Shepherd. At two years of age, he is a little underweight at 43# but has been eating good now that he's out of the shelter. He was recently neutered and is UTD on all vaccinations. He's been started on a heartworm preventative now that all testing has come back negative.

When Rocky's owner died, the police impounded him and turned him into a nearby shelter, along with two smaller dogs. His owner had young children as well, so Rocky not only lost his owner, but his home, his canine friends, and the kids as well.
Despite the many changes in his life, Rocky is adjusting well at his foster home and is coming out of his shell. He is cautious around new people, but when he warms up to you - look out, for you can expect lots of kisses and ploys for attention. He never strays far from human contact.

Rocky has started showing interest in play and will retrieve a tennis ball. He appears tolerant and gentle with other dogs, and has not displayed any kind of aggression with dogs or otherwise - not even when a hand reaches in to grab his food.
