Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Pippa will be at Pet Valu Downtown Hamilton (1 Wilson Street) for National Adoption Weekend Saturday April 18th 12-4 PM**
Pippa is another of the amazing puppies that has Isla Animals to thank for allowing her a chance at a prosperous future. Pippa was once part of a litter of 6 whom after only 4 weeks were tossed on the front yard of their "owners" property because they were not house-trained. Sadly, 4 of her siblings were hit by passing vehicles. Pippa, however, was one of the lucky ones as a concerned neighbour scooped her up and brought her to the care of the Isla Animals shelter.
Pippa is beautiful young girl with a personality and zest for life to match. Pippa does have a deformity in her front leg, but don't let that fool you! This girl is bound for great things and can live a very happy and fulfilling life. Pippa has a "double elbow" and as she is still a pup, it is unknown at this point how it will effect her in the future. It may be something that she will live comfortably with or it could require medical intervention later in her life. Anyone looking to adopt Pippa would need to take this into consideration. We have consulted several veterinarians as is Pippa is so young, the advice we were given was to wait and she how she grows.
Pippa is an intelligent, gentle and affectionate puppy that would love to have a family to call her own. Pippa would do best with someone who is home to teach her the ropes and work on her house-training and basic obedience. Pippa would benefit from regular walks, but her new family will need to make sure not to overdo it. Pippa is good at letting you know her limitations though--even though she has very few.
If you would like to make this special girl a part of your home, please submit an adoption application through our website. Pippa will be making an appearance at Pet Valu Downtown Hamilton on Wilson and James Street Saturday from 12-4 PM. She would love to meet you there and maybe get a glimpse at her forever family! Please note, that standard adoption protocol applies and we will not be adopting out dogs at the event.
