Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sunny is a fitting name for two reasons for this sweet girl. First because she’s a gorgeous yellow Labrador and second because her personality is bright and happy. Sunny was a repeat visitor at the local city shelter and we recently met her and made a promise that she’d never see those walls again. Her first time there was in December of 2014 when she was adopted by a retired couple. Sadly one of the family members became very ill and they were no longer able to care for her, so she was returned 3 months later. We are eager to help her find forever happiness.
Friendly, affectionate, loyal and happy are characteristics that sum up Sunny’s personality. She is just a fun-loving girl that wants to be in someone’s life forever. She bonds easily to people that show her affection and is truly and honestly the definition of a “family dog”. She seems to enjoy the “more the merrier” idea of people in her life. Sunny is about 1 ½ years old and about 40 pounds, so she’s the perfect size for rides in the car and all the adventures available for dogs.
Sunny gets along well with other dogs and seems to like their company. She affectionately has been nicknamed Sunny Bunny because she hops up to the other dogs she’s with to play with them. It’s an adorable habit she has and it shows that she has a joyful spirit. She will play in the yard and her moderate energy level is nice and very manageable.
She will be an excellent and dependable companion for her new family. She seems to be a great fit for a hiking, jogging and dog park buddy. Sunny loves to play in the water and although we haven’t taken her for a swim yet, we think she might really enjoy that too. Her sunny personality will attract friends and lots of belly rubs. Although we feel like she will love outdoor activities, she is also very well behaved inside the home too. Her foster mom said “she’s an easy dog to manage and she just wants to be loved”. She has been bounced around a little bit in her life, so she seems to need a little boost of confidence and extra attention occasionally, but we feel that once she’s bonded to her new family and feels she’s in a stable place, she will be more than content.
Sunny is kennel trained, house trained and walks fairly well on her leash. She is spayed, microchipped, current on her vaccinations and has a clean bill of health. She is currently living in a foster family and is available for adoption. Her adoption fee is $250. If you have additional questions about Sunny or would like to add this beautiful girl to your family, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org.
