My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Larissa is a very young 9 yr. old pure bred Yorkie. Up to date on vaccines, rabies, spayed, wormed, heart worm negative & on monthly heart worm preventative, and just a mere 5.7 lbs. She is such a delight. She walks well on a leash, rides in the car fine, ABSOLUTELY LOVES kids. She lived with 4 kids under the age of 7 who kept her quite busy.

Her story: her family got her as a pup and have loved her so many years. Both parents lost their jobs, not able to find work, they ended up losing their home and had to more to an apartment where no pets were allowed, so they felt turning her into the shelter would ensure her a wonderful home. Little did they know, being in a high kill shelter may not prove to save her life. Schnauzer Savers Rescue stepped in to save her. She has so much life in her and although she is considered an adult dog, she enjoys playing with her toys.

While in her foster home there are several other dogs and she pays them no attention. She much prefers to be with her humans. At night she much rather be sitting in the recliner with you until bedtime. Larissa would do well in a home with kids, since she has good energy, but we don't recommend large dogs due to her size.

Her photos will be updated this week after she is groomed, so please don't let the pre-groom photos scare you away. Larissa deserves a second chance at having a forever home.
