Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Axle was hit by a car and a Good Samaritan brought him to the vet clinic, where he fast became a favorite while healing up. He is now looking for a new home, even as some of the wounds continue to heal. He is such a friendly dog of about 7 years old. He is great with other dogs, but his favorite place to be is right with a human. He is good on the leash, may know some basic cues, and does not guard his food from us. He likes playing with tug toys, and seems to be housetrained, although we don't know for sure. He was good with the office cat, good while meeting kids, and is very affectionate. But, let's be honest, this shepherd mix is a bit vocal. He barks when he is not with us, but can see us. He can be a bit vocal when he wants something, too. He will also bark to let you know a strange dog just walked by.
Pupdate - we continue to have Axle in playgroups, he really is great with other dogs. We have noticed a significant decrease in his barking. Yahoo! We are not sure why Axle hasn't been adopted yet! He is a great, calm dog. He is affectionate, excellent on the leash, and has a wonderful energy level for someone wanting a love bug couch potato. Axle is a shelter staff favorite!
