Hi! My name is Echo.

I am two years old, spayed female.

I am a mis-marked fawn.

I am a family dog, who loves humans of all ages!

I have so much to tell you about myself, I just don’t know where to begin! I guess it’s best to start at the beginning…..

I came from a large family, along with multiple canine and feline siblings!

I was one of the two female dogs and my former canine sister bullied me multiple times. For my safety, I was owner surrendered.

When I went to a new home, I was thankful that there’s two children in my foster family along with a male (neutered) Great Dane dog. I love my foster human children and enjoy having my foster canine sibling of my size to play with.

My foster momma wants to tell you many things she has learned about me while living with her and her family ———

* Echo has been around children of all ages.
* She has never jumped on children
* She does wag her tail but, she does not have a happy tail
* She has been very good around elderlies with some physical disabilities.
* She has no food aggression
* She is a talker (“woo-woo”) and, she makes good conversations
* She is not a jumper nor stands on hind legs (i.e. does not tower anyone)
* She was reportedly having high prey drive. I have not seen any high prey however, she doesn’t seem to like bunnies in our yard so she chases them out. No sign of wanting to catch them thus far.
* She’s fabulous with male dogs, of all sizes during her stay with my family. However, she has a history (at her former home) that she has a high prey with small dogs and cats. To be on the safe side, I’d recommend no small pets.
* I cannot guarantee that she’d get along with female dogs (especially unaltered). I have not exposed her to another female dog due to past history of being bullied by another female dog. I recommend no other female dog.
* She loves to zoom hard in the backyard, so I do not recommend any children in her way. She tries not to bump anyone but, she’s too focused on her zoomies. It usually last up to 15 minutes (sometimes up to 30 minutes) before she’s satisfied after each of her zoomies. She’ll need at least one run (zoomie) per day, if possible.
* During her zoomie in the backyard, it’s best not to have another canine out with her until she’s done with her zoomie (too focused).
* A fence is a must for this girl, due to her focused zoomies and her past history of roaming while living at her former home.
* Indoors, she plays very nicely with another dog. Outdoors, she has a tendency to play too rough.
* Originally, she disliked any crates. I understand she had a crate that was too small. I “crated” her using the ex-pen and a twin mattress in the middle. Now, she loves to use my Great Dane’s ginormous crate. Either way, she does very well using the ginormous crate or the ex-pen (with mattress)
* During our errands, as long as she has a canine sibling, she can be trusted in the house. Without a canine sibling, I would not quite trust her yet therefore, I’d crate (or ex-pen) her
* She loves to go on car rides
* She loves to go on walks. Sometimes she pulls a little bit. She does well with the Gentle Handle or Slip Leash. She does well with an adult or a (trained) child walking her.
* She tolerates very well whenever my children dresses her up with clothes
* She is a sly manipulator to a canine sibling when it comes to wanting something from my dog. She manages to fool my dog into out of his toy, antler or his favorite bedding. She always seem to be laughing at his puzzlement of how it happened.
* She is very good at staying out of the basement, room or furniture
* She does attempt to stand too close to the table during the meal-times. However, she’s very good with the “Back” command or hand signal for her to move away from the table.
* In the beginning, she has counter-surfed (she was underweight and hungry) a couple of times. She has not counter-surfed since. *She’ll “nose-check” the counter but she has not taken any foods since. She also does well with the “Out” command when we want her out of the kitchen
* “Huh-UH!” command will get Echo to stop at whatever she’s doing something wrong.
* She is very good with the “Sit” and “Wait” before releasing her for her meals.
*She knows sit/wait/off/potty/back/crate/bed commands. She’s stubborn about the “down”
(i.e. lie down). As long as she sits nicely, I’m happy.
* She behaves well during the vet visits. She’s very friendly with the vet staff
* She does lean like a typical Great Dane however, she’s a light leaner which makes it good for young children and elderlies.
