Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Paul is looking for a foster home. Can you help?
Paul is a 5 year old harlequin male with natural ears. Paul has tendency to play rough and will grab your arm or even hit you with his paw when playing. Paul is not for a first time dog or Dane owner. He is very large and needs training which will be part of the adoption contract.
Update 4/10/16 - Paul adores Kathy & Brian, the kennel owners, and they really love him so they decided to bring him into the house from the boarding facility now that all the construction was finished on the house and it was quiet. All went well for the first couple of days then he started to show a serious interest in the cats, and as the days went by he was determined to go after them. Paul would also get jealous and start barking if he was sitting near Kathy and one of her dogs tried to approach her. He did the same thing with his brother Bill. If Paul was getting any attention and Bill would walk over he'd bark and wouldn't let Bill come over. Paul isn't aggressive with other dogs but he would do best as an only dog as he does get possessive and will resource guard his people. No cats or small animals.
9/11/16 We have discovered that Paul will do fine with children aged 12 or older.
Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League can only adopt within its incorporated area (eastern NY, eastern PA, NJ, DE, WV, MD, and VA). For more information on our adoption policies please visit our website: www.magdrl.org To adopt a Great Dane under 2 you must have traditional fencing (no electronic fences permitted). For Danes over 2, please see our website for fencing policies.
