Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you've ever wondered what a bichon looks like with no hair -- well, now you know! :) This is Fitz (short for Fitzgerald because his foster mom knew he deserved a 'proper' name).
Fitz was picked up by a good samaritan and taken to the vet after being hit by a car. Fortunately, he had no broken bones. But he also had no identification and no microchip. Usually the vet is the last place a dog wants to be, but in Fitz's case it was a blessing. Fitz's heartless owners had either neglected him and/or deliberately dumped him by the side of the road. Luckily, the nice vet took a shine to him and promised him she would find him the best home possible. And that's where you come in! I just can't imagine how anyone could neglect this little angel -- Fitz is one of the sweetest and most beautiful pups I've seen. And so brave too -- he let the vet examine him and x-ray him and he never complained.
Fitz is about 3 yrs old and weighs 11 lbs. He was very matted when he arrived at the vet so he got the ol' shave-down (we'll just call it his summer cut), but his hair is really beautiful and once it grows out he will be absolutely stunning!
Fitz is a sweet and gentle spirit. He loves people but he's a little timid at first until he knows you. He gets along fine with other dogs, but he's wary of the cats and pretty much leaves them alone. As long as he can be near you, he's happy. He is very responsive and eager to please. All he wants is someone who will love him and let him know that he is safe.
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vet checked, current on vaccinations, microchipped, groomed, de-wormed, de-flea'd, and come with a collar, leash, ID tag, and puppy kisses from the lucky dog you take home!
If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Fitz, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on 'Adopt,' which will take you to our online application form.
