Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DELTA is located in Chicago, IL
DELTA was originally found at O'hare airport and brought to CACC by Chicago police officers, and this is where she acquired her unique but appropriate name. She is estimated to be about 9 years old and is a very big, lovable tuxie girl with long, luxurious fur. She was recently returned, through no fault of her own, and has gained some extra pounds and required a lion haircut because she had been neglected and her fur was quite matted. Despite all of her misadventures, she is the happiest cat you will ever meet. Delta has a very loving and maternal nature and will curl up with any other cats in her foster home and groom them. She also loves to sit on your lap or partially on one's leg and get pets and chin scratches. Nothing makes her happier than getting some attention, and she will let you know with her loud purr which can be heard from across the room. She loves sleeping on the bed at night next to people, and she is very chatty at meal times. She's got some big paws and claws and therefore uses the scratching posts a great deal and tears into them and also the cardboard scratchers, quite effectively. She allows for nail trims and handling of any kind without trouble, and she would do well in a home with or without another feline companion, or even cat-friendly dogs, so long as she is given time to acclimate. Sometimes, Delta can get stressed with changes in her environment and this can manifest itself in her eating habits. She had to be treated for feline hepatic lipidosis, or fatty liver, while in her adoptive home, and was on fluids, medication, and force feedings for months. Her new forever home and family will need to keep an eye on this and make sure she does not relapse. She is on a primarily wet food diet now, as the vet recommends she lose some weight. The extra pounds she put on are detrimental for a variety of reasons and make it difficult for her to groom herself. Delta is well worth the effort and she will reward you with her affections and antics. She is young at heart and has a lot of love left to give! Delta lives in the city of Chicago, so if you'd like to meet her please keep that in mind.
