My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skoti & Pepper are on their way to their new home together! To see their adoption photo, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Happy Endings in 2015.

Skoti and Pepper are a bonded pair and will only be adopted together. Their owner moved into a nursing home so they need a new home. Skoti is 13 and he is a diabetic, he takes insulin shots twice a day and he is very good about it. He is regulated on his insulin. Pepper is 6 years old and she is a diva. Both are spayed/neutered and current on their vaccines. Skoti will ge his teeth cleaned before he leaves rescue. They are sweeties and follow their foster mom around. Pepper is definitely the leader. She has spent most of her down time sitting with her foster mom on the couch, sometimes next to her, sometimes on her lap. Skoti likes to be a lap dog, but Pepper edges him out sometimes. He sometimes stands up to her a little, soft growls, nose nudges, but backs down most of the time. They did manage to share their foster mom's lap for a while yesterday. He wanted to be on her lap when she was working in her home office (makes it hard to type!). He liked that, she didn't. She asks for attention whenever the foster mom is giving attention to him. He seems much younger than he is. He plays with toys (until she takes them away!). They are both good on the leash. She walks a little faster than he does. They have been crated and they were fine with that. If you would like to be considered to adopt Skoti & Pepper together, you must first apply. Then please contact linda@schnauzerrescue.net. If you've already applied, please contact linda@schnauzerrescue.net to be added to the list of those being considered. To apply on-line, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on the on-line application. Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees. We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC and southern Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications within a reasonable driving distance of our areas of coverage. Please read the list at the top of the on-line application to see if you are in our area. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Our website also features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips - plus the best schnauzer items for purchase! All proceeds benefit schnauzers in need. Thanks for your support!
