Chewy came into our rescue several weeks ago along with Baby Girl. He'd been living in an empty apartment in Waterbury that had no heat, electricity, or water - and shaggy doesn't even begin to describe him! He's now cleaned up, clipped, and looking adorable - and he's also looking for a wonderful long-term foster or forever home. Baby Girl and Chewy are seniors - Baby Girl is 14 and Chewy is 12. They're both blind because of glaucoma. They're used to living with each other, and we want to keep them together. So we'd like to find a wonderful foster or forever family who can welcome them together into their home. Both dogs are great with other dogs - in fact they gain confidence from other sighted dogs and get around just fine when in their company - and also with children and cats. Baby Girl has one eye that has some fluid building up behind it as a result of the glaucoma and our vet continues to evaluate whether medical intervention is needed. At 14 years old, if he can avoid putting her under anesthesia he'd prefer to do that. Otherwise, these two pups are amazingly healthy and still have a little pep in their step! Let's find Baby Girl and Chewy a totally awesome retirement home! They deserve lots of love and cuddles, and a place to relax and feel safe in their golden years! If they are adopted, we will only consider adopting them as a bonded pair and the adoption fee will be reduced. For more information please email: furryfriendsct@yahoo.com
