Here's what the humans have to say about me:
this incredibly affectionate and playful young boycat was rescued from the street, he just wants to be a housecat and cuddle and play and roll in catnip and eat, simple goals, if only some caring person will help him meet them.
we estimate he is around two to three years of age, we have had him neutered, microchipped, given initial rabies and distemper vaccines, treated against fleas and tested for feline leukemia and FIV, he tested clear of feline leukemia and positive for FIV, which is a virus that can slowly impact on a cat's immune system.
FIV is not contaigous to people or other species besides cats, and cats who have been neutered and spayed are very unlikely to transmit the virus even to other cats. cats with FIV can live long full happy lives, should be kept inside and given proper food and water and care, and they can live to 18 years or more.
here is a link about FIV explaining more http://www.fivcatrescue.org/fiv-what-is-fiv.html and http://www.animalleague.org/expert-advice/health/articles/everyday-health/truth-about-fiv-cats.html
it is estimated about two percent of housecats have FIV and many are never tested for the virus and simply live with it with no symptoms for most of their lives.
please consider adopting him, we always take cats back if there is a problem in the adoption, and he is also available for a 'foster to adopt' to see how he does in your home.
Pirougie is a darling sweet boy, please give him the home he so needs and deserves
we are an all volunteer cat rescue group and have a small rehoming fee for all the cats we adopt out that helps to cover some of our veterinarian costs, his rehoming fee is 65 dollars
please contact us for more information about adopting or fostering him
thank you for considering helping a rescued cat!
