My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ok this absolutely, breath-takingly incredible dog needs a home asap! Seriously this girl is the BEST dog!!!! This is Daisy, a 3 year old boxer mix. Daisy's story is incredibly touching and has completely reminded me of why I am in this line of work. Precious girl was used as a bait dog (a bait dog is a dog that is used in dog fighting practice for the fighting dogs to practice on. Typically the bait dog is weak or is restrained so that they are not able to defend themselves and fight back) and despite her disgustingly terrible past, Daisy is just as loving and wonderful as can be. She LOVES kids, she is very gentle, mellow, and super well-mannered! Anyway, back to her story. Daisy was knocking on dearh's door and was within minutes of euthanasia when The Rescued K-9 rescued her. Because we were not sure how she did with other dogs due to her past, we were forced to immediately place her in boarding until we could find an experience adopter. Daisy waited and waited but no one came for her. For 7 weeks. 7 weeks of being in a cage 24/7. What is worse than that is that Daisy got "happy tail", she was thumping her tail against the cage wall so hard every time that someone walked by thay her tail became a big open wound. The wound got infected and quickly turned into gangrene. Daisy became very ill and we immediately rushed her to the vet when we were informed of her declining health. Daisy's tail was amputated and she was put on heavy antibiotics. And despite all of this, she still was constantly happy to see people. Daisy is healthy and her tail is healing very well and she is currently with a foster family that has no other dogs and two kids. They are leaving for the summer so we need to get her into a deserved home immediately!!!!!!
Daisy is not good with other dogs right now, BUT she is salvageable in that department and I am willing to help raise $500 for training with my trainer to help work on her dog insecurity. So she can go to a family with a dog that is willing to work with her on training or to a family with no other dogs (and I can still raise money for the training!). Daisy is truly the world's most perfect and most loving angel! She just needs to come across the right family. She is a staff favorite everywhere she goes and I hear people tell me all the time how incredibly loving and affectionate she is. Daisy deserves a home....NOW!!!!!
