Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please read below or visit her site at www.cwer.org/brownie.html
6/2/15 - Brownie is progressing in her riding training and is doing well. Still very green at this point. She has been working with several volunteers who are learning to round pen.
When Brownie arrived we were told Brownie had no riding skills, and find that to be accurate. We worked her through ground school then pre-riding training as we do all horses.
7/9/14: Brownie stepped onto the bridge/scale with little difficulty and was weighed and measured with ease.
7/10/14: Brownie had a saddle pad, then a surcingle, then a cinched surcingle, then a saddle, then a girthed saddle on her this evening, all with ease. She walked a little, and expressed very mild concern or uncertainty, but she was curious, willing, exceptionally responsive to positive reinforcement. Brownie also saw the circus stand for the first time, and with little help stepped her front hooves on it and then stepped up on and across/off it within a few minutes.
7/11/14: Brownie was saddled again this evening with just a few strides but no concern. She was also bridled, on and off 4 times, tonight. She clearly has never had a bit previously -- chewing at it feverishly - but without being pushy or rude or fighting being bridled or unbridled.
Brownie is proving to be a willing student who is just unsure what we are asking of her. She still gets mildly pushy if she doesn't like or is unsure of what we are doing, but for the most part she is responding wonderfully and is consistent and surprisingly level headed.
November 2014: time restraints have kept Brownie from working much until recently. Brownie is ground driving VERY nicely, and we've begun work at the mounting steps .
December 2014: Brownie has started riding training and is progressing well. VERY GREEN.
