Tyra Banks is a fantastic 1-3 year old pooch who appears to be a German Shorthaired Pointer and Labrador Retriever mix or similar with gorgeous golden eyes. She weighs about 45lbs and has the shiniest charcoal coat we have EVER seen - it reflects light perfectly (so she may be mixed with a Porsche or Ferrari. . .). Because Tyra is a proper lady, she is crate-trained and house-trained. She also knows how to SIT on command and is learning to lay DOWN. She walks nicely on a leash and takes treats gently. Tyra is also perfecting her manners in her foster home and learning how to be a totally awesome pet.
Tyra currently lives with both large and small dogs and loves everyone, but does prefer more submissive/fun-loving/non-grumpy dogs who don't try to boss her around (we can't blame her). Tyra LOVES to play, wrestle and bounce around with the other dogs she has met and thinks playing is even more fun if you talk your way through it! (If you have a very delicate canine player in your home, Tyra would probably overwhelm them with her play-time enthusiasm.) Tyra also lives with older kids. She hasn't been around very young children, but it is expected she would do fine as long as she is reminded not to jump up on them for affection.
Despite her zest for playing, Tyra is only a moderate-energy level dog. She would like to play a game of tug of war or go on a walk but once she's done she is totally content to chill on the couch with you and binge-watch your favorite Netflix series. Sometimes, Tyra even falls so deeply asleep on the couch she slides right off on to the floor without waking up. Tyra is very easily trainable and desperately wants to make her people happy while acquiring plenty of head rubs and cookies! She loves attention from humans and is willing to learn whatever you want to teach her. In true model fashion, Tyra also doesn't mind wearing crowns, being dressed up and having her toenails painted. She is a dog that should blend in well to many homes, but she does need an owner who will set rules for her. Also, Tyra would do best in a home without cats as she thinks they are fun to chase.
