Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Long story on Bella...so sit back, grab a beverage and read on. Bella is a two year old German Shepherd girl who was brought to SAFE Haven's attention by a compassionate and caring rescuer. It seems the woman went to buy some firewood from a man and noticed Bella in the yard. The dog looked to be in precarious health and way too thin. The woman asked the man if she could take the dog and he said yes. First hurtle overcome. Then it turned out that the rescuer's landlord said, "No large dogs." So the search was on to find a home for her through FB and other media. A visit to the vet revealed that Bella was heartworm positive...more complications...treatment is expensive. Further, Bella had a large bladder stone that required surgery. Fortunately, SAFE Haven was in a position to take care of the dog's medical needs and took possession of this sweet girl. She had several weeks of training at WKCC and is now in foster to complete the rest of her heartworm treatment.
She had had surgery to remove the tangerine sized bladder stone and is doing well. She will, however, require special dog food for urinary tract health for the rest of her life and twice a year check ups. This is why we have designated her special needs. She is in great health, wants to play and take walks, and gets along well with other animals (She ignores cats, but is the least little bit curious about them).
