Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Cleo, a four-month old (15-03-06) female Pitsky (Husky and Pit bull mix). Cleo’s black, brown, and white lightly brindled fur is soft and her markings are spectacular. She has a white face with black lined, lively, inquisitive eyes, and white paws. Cleo is always HAPPY! She loves life and people and dogs, and just about anything. Cleo enjoys being outdoors and exploring, and is one of the first to run out when it’s time to potty. Once she’s played with her toys, chased her siblings, and had a good meal, Cleo heads for her crate and has a long nap cuddled with the other puppies. She’s great with the other puppies in our care, and she likes all humans – young and old. Cleo enjoys a cuddle but as she will be large we are trying to teach her not to climb, although that cute face makes us forget that rule a lot. As with all puppies, Cleo will need a firm hand until she is fully trained. She's young and still displays puppy behaviour, chews yummy forbidden objects, sometimes forgets housebreaking rules, and is learning to walk on a leash, thankfully she’s quickly learning what’s expected of her.
Cleo is healthy, has received her first sets of puppy vaccines, and will be vetted until she is adopted. We spay and neuter all animals in our care, but as Cleo is still too young to be spayed, her adoptive family must commit to having her spayed when she’s five months old. As such, Cleo’s adoption fee will be $200, with $50 returned to the adopters, once we have confirmation the pup has been spayed.
For more information on Cleo, please contact Louise Vande Wiele at louisevdew@gmail.com and we will respond as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, please read the following so that you are aware of our process, and that you agree to it, before asking to adopt one of our rescues.
Anyone wanting to adopt a dog from the RARFS is expected to fill out an adoption application, provide references, sign an adoption contract, agree to a home visit, and finally to pay an adoption fee. Once the application is received, references checked, and a home visit completed, and everything is satisfactory, families can take their new family member home. Should a dog adopted from RARFS need to be rehomed, we ask that the dog be returned to us, or that we approve the new home. We have a no questions asked return policy, but fees will not be reimbursed.
Families who rent must provide a letter from their landlord stating that they are allowed to have a dog listing any size or breed restriction.
We prefer that families come and pick up their new family member, but a licensed pet transport is available. Should we need to transport dogs to their new homes, the adopter will need to pay $150 per dog, to the transport company.
