Her name says it all... she is as sweet as a cupcake! She loves to snuggle and is really gentle. She does have a rambunctious side to her, but calms down quickly. Cupcake does want to jump up on people, but she is working hard to correct this behavior. This girl loves to go for walks and does do well on a leash, though she pulls a bit; with good hard work she is learning not to. Cupcake would make a great walking or jogging companion. She has been guilty of doing her "business" in the house if she's not on a schedule (and shown where a good place to "go"), but her foster family is working hard to correct this problem, and she's had only one accident since arriving at her new foster home. Cupcake does have some anxiety when traveling in the car; she will throw up and eliminate in her crate due to the anxiety, but we are working on this as well. Because of this we would like to place her in a home within driving distance of her foster home (no more than 600 miles, one way). Cupcake keeps a clean crate at night, and will be fine in a crate for short times during the day. This sweet girl does have some hurdles to overcome, but she is very smart and eager to please. Because she is eager to please she is easy to train, and so her foster mom thinks she is a great candidate for any dog sport out there: tracking, obedience, earth dog, barn hunt, agility, etc. Cupcake would also be a great pet therapy dog if given the proper training, since she loves to snuggle. She is only 3 years old, and weighs 17 pounds. So if you are looking for a sweet dog to cuddle, a dog to participate in some dog sports, or an exercise buddy, she would love to show you how sweet she really is.
