Al & Val are a dynamic due who will be placed in an adoptive home together. If you are interested in adopting these 2 love birds, please complete the adoption application on our website at www.brusselsgriffonrescue.org or send inquiries to Vicki at vboneill@optonline.net
Al and Val are super senior griffs who came to rescue because their owner passed away. Al is 12 years old and Val is 11 years old – but they are both surprisingly youthful. Al is about 14 lbs. and Val is about 12 lbs. Their foster dad writes about them "If you didn't know their age you would never guess it from the way they act. Happy to see people, attentive and full of energy and eager to see what is going on without baking and being rowdy.”
He also writes that anyone who considers adopting these two griffs won’t know how lucky they are until Al and Val live with them a bit – he says it’s like they have been here forever – they are easy going and have adapted to the routine here with no problems. They are sweet and social. Anyone who would pass up the opportunity to adopt an older dog will never know what they have missed. Especially with these two.
Al and Val are neutered, up to date on vaccines, heart worm negative and on preventative. Al had bladder stones when he came to rescue – but we had them removed and had his teeth cleaned and he is good to go. He eats a urinary SO diet – canned – with a little water added – to keep him from getting stones again. Val had a slight ear infection when she came to rescue so she takes drops in her ears twice a week. She also had her teeth cleaned.
Al and Val are crate trained and walk nicely on a leash. They love going for daily walks around the neighborhood. They get along well with the other griff in their foster home.
Al and Val are being fostered in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
