My story

This classy little lady with the beautiful, shiny fur is Josephine! She was abandoned on a farm when she was pregnant recently and the lady who lives there called us to rescue her & her unborn babies! Her puppies have all been born & adopted and she's ready to find her own Forever Home! Born in November 2013, Josephine is a sweet Dachshund Mix who's spayed, current on her shots, microchipped, house trained and crate trained. She's not a fan of the crate and howls while she's in there. A very friendly girl, she gets along great with everyone she meets - kids, adults, cats & dogs!

Josephine is a sweet girl whose favorite place to be is in somebody's lap, giving them kisses! She's very loving and was a great Mama to her puppies, always happy to see them, even climbing into their playpen to get to them! When this little beauty meets new people, sees someone she knows or one of her loved ones come home, she gets so excited her butt wiggles and her tail wags back & forth so fast you can barely see it! It's so funny yet touching and just adds to her charm! And it's a great way to start off your evening at home!

Jo, as she's affectionately called in her Foster Home, doesn't play very much. She'd much rather be curled up in a lap with a loved one. She loves attention, especially belly rubs, and enjoys spending time with a rawhide. She knows the basic commands Sit, Stay & Down and listens well although she has an adorable stubborn streak. She's a good girl on a leash, rides nicely in the car and behaves well in public.

Josephine looks forward to keeping her Forever Family's laps warm this winter and being a wonderful companion!
