Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to "Hitch"! Hitch’s previous owner had a change in her living situation, so was no longer able to keep Hitch. He is currently in foster care with our rescue and is looking for a new family and forever home!
Here's a little about Hitch....
He's about 2 years old and approximately 60 pounds. He is exuberant and playful, not to mention he is absolutely gorgeous! With his original owner, he resided in a home with 4 other dogs, and now in his foster home he resides with 2 other dogs, and gets along great with everyone. He also used to live with a small child (now five years old), and did wonderfully with her. He has never been around cats, so we can't speak to how he is with them. Hitch takes food gently and is NOT food aggressive. He loves pull toys and loves to play fetch. He knows 'sit' and is a quick learner, having already learned how to 'shake hands' since being in foster care. He enjoys walks, but is quite strong and will pull...the harness his foster mom currently uses helps with that, but he could use some additional training to remedy his pulling. Hitch is housebroken and crate trained and is currently crated when his foster parents are at work and at bed time. He is an indoor dog only, going outside for potty breaks and for supervised back yard play time along with leash walks. Hitch would make a great best friend and is sure to brighten your day with his big ole’s goofy smile and loving ways!
Hitch is up to date on his vaccinations, has been heartworm tested and is current on preventative, and is neutered. His adoption fee is $125. If you’re interested in making Hitch a permanent part of your family, please email Sarah at sarahthewayhome@gmail.com with any questions about Hitch or for an adoption application. The adoption application must be completed and returned before a time to meet Hitch can be scheduled. Once the application is received and the reference check performed, a ‘meet and greet’ will be scheduled and a home visit performed. If all goes well with that process, then the final step is to sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
TWHRA is open to out of state adoptions if they are within a distance where a home visit can be performed. TWHRA is also open to 'foster to adopt' trial periods where I can go home with an approved adopted for a 2 week trial to make sure it's a good fit for me and the adopter before my adoption is finalized.
Thanks so much for reading about Hitch and considering a rescue dog! Again, for more information on me, or for an adoption application, please email sarahthewayhome@gmail.com . Hope to hear from you soon!
