Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kim is a loving, playful, and resilient 1 year-old lab/terrier cross (of some type) with enormous eyes and an infectious smile. This friendly and sweet girl is originally from Mexico, where, until recently, she waited patiently for months for her chance to come to Canada to start a new life.
Kim truly is the perfect dog! She looks like a mini-lab with all the wonderful qualities that come with that breed: she loves playing fetch, she is a quick learner, and she is loyal to her family. Kim also adores playing with other dogs and is very good with other animals. She is both curious and gentle, so watching her interact with other dogs is a joy.
Kim would excel with an active family that could walk her regularly and/or that has a yard where she can run around. She would also do very well with an older couple, a family with older children, and/or a family that already has pets/a dog.
At just under 20 pounds, Kim is a delight in the house, the car, and on a leash thanks to her dedicated and caring foster momma, who was always very attentive and affectionate. Kim’s foster family describes her as one of the nicest, kindest little dogs they’ve ever met and that she just loves to give kisses. This little girl has so much love to give and truly deserves the world.
Kim has had a challenging beginning: prior to being found by NOBARS volunteers in Puerto Vallarta, Kim’s former owners branded both of her cheeks (scars in pictures). It is absolutely heartbreaking to think of the cruelty this precious girl has had to endure, and it is truly amazing to see that despite her sad beginnings, Kim really has no behavioral concerns. Miraculous really.
It is important to note that Kim is timid with men due to her past experiences. Although this trepidation will dissipate, her new family should demonstrate patience and a willingness to help her as she gets settled in by using consistent and positive reinforcement (she loves treats!). Kim’s ability to adapt is astounding, but it is important that Kim’s new family not force or rush her transition.
Do you have the love to give this little one? If so, please fill out our application at
We are a registered non profit society. All our dogs are vaccinated, sterilized and are fostered in homes with families.
NOBARS believes that a dog is best assessed for a new home environment by living in one!!!! Therefore we do not use kennels, but have a network of approved foster homes where our dogs can be properly assessed before being offered for rehoming. Our foster homes offer a varied range of experiences which means we can choose an appropriate foster home for each dog, but it also means our dogs are able to experience situations which are invaluable to owners looking to take on a new forever friend, such as children, cats and other dogs.
