My name is Theo. My rescuers and caretakers say that I don’t even need a story because my face is just that cute, but I want to tell you all about myself so you will pick me for sure.
I was taken into the shelter as a stray and there’s not much more to that part of the story that anyone knows, but likely I just got out and got lost because nobody would ever let me go intentionally. I’m super sweet, fun and affectionate and will be the perfect family dog. The shelter obviously saw all of those great traits because they kept me there for over 60 days waiting for the right family for me. That is not common in most shelters in my area…I got lucky! Reggie’s Friends saw me and knew they could find my perfect family faster than the shelter could so they came to pick me up.
I’m a border collie/heeler mix, so you know that I’m super smart, easily trainable and adorable with all of my spots and freckles. My age was estimated at 1 ½ years old and I’m about 40 pounds. I’m probably going to grow by a couple pounds once I settle in, but I’ll be a medium sized pup.
I was so incredibly happy to be out of the shelter that I did a happy dance in the play yard for my new friends. It was fun and they all laughed and told me how cute I am. I’m super happy, playful and bouncy. I love every person that I’ve met so far and can’t wait to find my forever people.
I am boarding right now with lots of other great dogs and I get along with all of them, both big and small. I am an active kid and like to run and play, so ideally my new family will have activities on the agenda and want to take me along. I’d really like to have a yard with a fence so you can watch me play and better yet, play with me. I’d also be a fantastic dog park attendee, a perfect hiking partner and doggy daycare participant. I’d be great with kids that are a little bit older and used to being around happy, bouncy dogs because I might try to get some kisses in.
I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready to pack my bags and head home to my new family. I’m currently living in Houston, Texas and will remain here until my family finds me. I’m available for adoption locally (in Houston) and outside of Texas as well. My out of state adoption fee is $450 which covers my airline flight, travel kennel, comfy bed and travel documents.
