My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Kieko and I am a very special 11+ year old spay female. I was rescued from a Missouri puppy mill in October 2009, by a group called Hearts United for Animals. I lived at the Sanctuary until 5/7/14, when I came to CJCR hoping for a better chance of adoption. I am living in a foster home where it was immediately apparent that I had a vision problem. After a visit to the Ophthalmologist it was discovered that I have a condition called PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy). I will be completely blind within 2 years. Fortunately this is not a painful condition and because it is a slow process I am doing just fine. You would never know that I have limited vision and I am a very sweet and affectionate girl who is absolutely beautiful. I would make a great only dog, however get along fine with other dogs. My foster family is working with me on voice and touch commands since I will have no vision in the future. I am looking for a very special home who is willing to give me a chance at living out my senior years in a loving home. I have no other health issues and have a great deal of love to give.
