My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luther (named after the British TV series) is our 4 month old lab-shepherd mix. Luther weighs approximately 38 pounds and will be a big boy! What a LOVE to everyone, other dogs and even cats, too! Luther has so much FUN running around the foster family's home playing with with other puppies. They will do the chasing game for awhile, then curl up in the puppy area squeezing as many as possible on one puppy bed. Luther is so eager to learn and very, very smart. You get these two breeds together and you have one AWESOME dog! Luther is working on his potty training skills and is one quick learner. Luther loves his foster home but is looking for his forever home, he is READY!!

If you are interested in giving Luther a wonderful home, go to our Facebook page and download the application from the "Notes" section. While you are there, please "Like" our page to see our new available dogs and keep up with upcoming events.

You can also email us at merceranimalrescue@gmail.com and we will email an application to you. Feel free to call Beverly with questions about the dogs 901-651-6322 / or Angela with questions about our adoption process.

Luther's adoption donation is $495 which helps to cover the neutering, shots, bordetella (kennel cough), vet examination, certificate of health and transport fee.

Luther is fostered in Tennessee and will travel to his new home once he has been adopted. We use a professional pet transport service that makes weekly trips to the northeast and bi-monthly trips to Chicago.

Our primary source of funding comes from this adoption donation. This donation allows us to rescue other dogs in danger of being put to sleep, injured or sick dogs and dogs that have never known the comfort of a home.
