My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Holly currently lives in Houston, Texas and is available for out of state adoption.**

Holly is a beautiful Cattle Dog mix with a sweet and a shy personality. She was rescued from another adoption program that was closing down, but still had pups needing homes. We were so happy to transfer her to our program because she is a fantastic girl and we know that she will be an excellent addition to a family very soon. She is such a beauty inside and out. Her inquisitive ears, striking markings and perfect size make her a really perfect find and will catch the attention of all.

She is estimated at 2 years old and 40 pounds with the perfect body style for hiking and trail jogs, but also for couch cuddling and everything else that allows her to spend time with her people. She has adapted to our boarding facility and her caretakers very quickly and enjoys spending time with the other dogs there and the staff too. Holly is quite shy at first, but is very much a playful and active girl with love for everyone she meets when given the chance to get to know them. She’s affectionate and spirited and will race across the play yard to greet her visitors, knowing she will share in some hugs and kisses. She knows how to make a person feel special, but she also really enjoys a good scratch.

Holly was in a rescue group prior to Reggie’s Friends for an extended period
of time, thus we believe she’s been around dogs her whole life, but not around many people. She likes to socialize with other dogs and would really do best having a furry sibling to help with her confidence level as she is still quite shy at first. We think having other dogs around makes her more comfortable and they can show her the ropes in her new life. It’s great to see her have fun here, allow her to be a happy dog every day and get to overcome some of the shyness. Her energy level is great for a jog, but she also is very enjoyable once it is time to come inside the house.

Holly is crate trained, house broken and has really nice manners too. Because she had not been an inside pup before joining our group, we had to help her learn a few “basics” for the new chapter in her life. She is doing very well with leash training and walks well with you, especially when you have a few tasty snacks to show her the way! Like most Cattle Dogs, she likes to talk to her people occasionally, but it's just because she's so excited to be involved in the activities. Holly’s ideal home is an active owner that likes to take her along on adventures or even to run errands. She would do very well in a home with other dogs as she is the submissive one. Older children would be just fine too, but younger kids might be a little too intimidating for her timid personality. Holly is an incredibly sweet and gentle dog, but still needs some continued assistance to adjust to life as a beloved pet.

She is already spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated, which means she is now ready to find her new family. Holly is ready to start her new life and she wants to do that with an awesome new owner. She is currently living in Houston, Texas, and available for out of state adoption. If you have any questions or would like to fill out an adoption application for this beauty, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org. Her adoption fee is $450, which will cover the cost of her airline flight, new travel kennel and comfy bed. If you think Holly is a perfect fit for you, we look forward to meeting you and making her part of your family.
