Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Little Mandy is a female Lhasa Apso mix, about 1 to 2 years old. She was rescued from the streets after she was lost or abandoned. This poor girl has been bounced around a lot and no one can know what other trauma she's endured besides being in a shelter for months. She is still frightened of people but has made great strides with the volunteers who have been working with her to gain her trust. She seems very lonely and did well when she spent the day with one of the volunteers in her home. Mandy loves the company of other dogs, who help her fears to melt away. As soon as she has canine company, her tail begins wagging and she seems to have forgotten how scared she was. She loves to play with her toys and she loves to play with other small dogs (and she doesn't care for cats!) She loves going for walks and does well on a leash.
Mandy's new owner will need to be patient and understanding and give her the time and space she needs to see how wonderful a home and family of her own can be. Because she is so nervous, she cannot go into a home with young children. Mandy has been spayed, vaccinated and tested negative for heartworm. The adoption fee is $60.
If you're interested in adopting Mandy, please email leslie02857@gmail.com for an application and indicate what type of home you can offer to her (other pets in the home; family members; etc.)
