Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOSTER LOCATION: Salt Lake City, UT
Hershey is a male Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who is about two years old. This boy is 12 pounds of absolute sweetness with a totally adorable snaggle tooth.
This too cute boy LOVES people, he wants to greet everyone (and every dog) he sees with kisses and a wiggle butt. Although this is a great thing and very cute it can get him in trouble sometimes. He also tends to jump on other dogs and small children in an attempt to love on them. His foster parents are working on teaching Hershey how to show love without the use of his feet.
Hershey listens to basic commands (sit, down, no, go to bed), is house trained and is a joy to have in the home. He is not fully crate trained yet but he’s getting better; he’ll cry for a couple minutes and then give up and go to sleep. He is a pretty quiet boy and we have only heard him bark when the doorbell rang, when he heard a knock and when he was in his crate and needed to go potty.
He has done really well riding in the car. He’ll look outside occasionally, but for the most part he just lays down and rests. He’s quite mellow, wouldn’t say he needs a lot of exercise. He’s happy to go for a walk but then all he wants to do is go home and take a nap. Hershey is not great on a leash it’s very apparent he’s never been on one consistently before. He’s improved significantly since going to his foster home and they are working on it with him. He seems to learn fairly quickly and doesn’t seem to be as stubborn as Chihuahuas usually are. He currently does not have free reign of the house, he’s only allowed in certain areas and he’s done very well with this.
While Hershey loves adults, kids and other dogs he does tend to get anxious around big groups of people and loud noises. So while he’d love to have kids in his forever home he should probably not go to a huge family.
He’s sweet, relatively quiet and loves to sleep. He’s a keeper!
If you think you are my perfect match for Hershey please fill out an adoption application so we can get back to you: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/
There is a $50 adoption fee for Hershey
He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
