Grace is a lovely black and tan mini dachshund. She is very sweet and smart. She plays well with canine friends as long as they are about her size. She has lovely indoor manners but will need a fenced yard when playing outside. Some of her favorite things are tennis balls. plush toys and chew bones. Grace really enjoys a sunny spot for napping outside on nice days and a warm lap or a doggie bed for indoor naps. She does not like the loud noises that go along with stormy weather or the sound of fireworks. She loves children but isn't too fond of kitties or birds.
Grace was almost named Shadow because she would follow her foster mom's every step. Grace knows the commands for sit, stay and come and learns easily with gentle correction and lots of praise. She is crate trained, walks well on a leash and is almost completely house trained.
A real lap dog, Grace loves to be wherever her foster mom is and would love to be allowed to sleep with her.
Grace was found wandering a neighborhood in Monroe, La. with her traveling companion, Ozzie,(see his web page) who is also available for adoption. Grace and Ozzie love to play and sleep together. They are very attached to each other and we are hoping they may be lucky enough to be adopted together but it isn't required.
