My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ernie is a 4 month old red smooth male standard dachshund puppy; who came from an unplanned litter of puppies. When a home couldn't be found for him, a family member took him in and when she was unable to find a home for him--she turned to rescue. Ernie had received no immunizations, and had a big issue with parasites, so he has now started on immunizations and is being treated for coccidia. He will be neutered when he turns 6 months old. We estimate that he will be ready for his new home around June 11th. Please note that Ernie will not be a small dachshund--he is a standard--if you are looking for a miniature dachshund, he would not be the one.

PLEASE NOTE: Ernie will not be neutered until he is 6 months old, and thus will not be available for adoption until that time. There are absolutely no exceptions to this policy. We estimate that he will be available to go to his new home around June 15, 2008.

Ernie is a happy, sweet puppy. He enjoys interacting with other small dogs, and would like a home with at least one other dachshund. We will get photos of Ernie posted in the next couple of weeks.
