Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Madame was an owner surrender to the local humane society on August 14, 2014, where she lived for about 6 weeks. She was adopted, but abandoned at a boarding kennel where she stayed for months... Then she landed a spot here at my house! You must be thinking, for a dog to be looking for a home this long, there must be SOMETHING wrong with her. I have to say, that is far from the truth! Out of 70+ fosters, Madame is one of my favorites. If you're looking for a cuddle bug and someone to dry your tears while you're watching The Notebook, Madame is your gal! If you're wanting a jogging or swimming buddy, once again... Madame is your gal! Not only is she great with other dogs, she loves kids and pretty much every person. Her only real flaw is that she is not a fan of cats and due to her prey drive, she should probably not be around Guinea pigs, ferrets, etc. At about 55lbs, Madame is not too big, but not too small. She's about 2.5 years old (which means she's been homeless for nearly half her life!) and we are thinking she is a shepherd/hound mix. Madame is also housetrained, cratetrained and knows "sit". She rides well in the car and "loads up" well, although occasionally she needs a hand getting into tall vehicles. She sleeps in bed with me most nights and is not a bed hog but is a great cuddler! In fact, I'll wake up in the middle of the night with her curled up right next to my face! Madame also is energetic and does need to burn off some energy, but she is not overly-hyper. She minds well and calms down easily! She also is not very vocal, but she will let you know when it is time to eat and when she needs to be let back in the house. She doesn't like to be left outside all alone for long periods of time, but who does? Madame is heartworm positive but is currently on slow-kill treatment and is doing well. She is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. Madame is a wonderful girl, and I can't believe she hasn't found a forever home yet. Her adoption fee is $75! Is Madame the dog for you?!
