Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Handsome, happy and homeless is how we describe Bentley. Bentley Is a Basenji mix, we aren’t sure
with what, but it is a good mix. Basenji’s are known as the barkless dogs, but Bentley is able to bark. He
is quiet in the house, but outside he will let you know if he sees or hears something he thinks you should
know about. Bentley is around 2 years old. He is playful with other dogs and likes to play with stuffed
toys. He recently went to a local dog park and loved it. He loved running around and meeting other
dogs. You would never have to worry about Bentley starting something with another dog.
Probably Bentley biggest asset is how he is with children. He absolutely loves kids. He is so gentle with
them and lets them pet and hug him. If you have young children, Bentley is a dog you want to look at.
He is the dog that will be your child’s best buddy. And he is the perfect size for children, around 24
pounds. He isn’t so small that they have to be careful with him, but he isn’t so big that he scares them
or knocks them down. Even the day he had his neuter surgery he found a little boy to snuggle up with in
the waiting room when he was getting checked out.
Bentley is also a super snuggler. If you let him sleep in bed with you he will give you a good night hug
before he finds his place just off to your side. If you want to watch TV or read he will keep your lap
warm. Bentley is always happy to keep you company. We have also discovered that Bentley is probably
the slowest eater we have ever seen. He does not get very excited about food. But don’t think that
means he will be hard to train. He is such a people person that your facial expressions and tone of voice
is all he needs to know if he is doing what you want. He learns very quickly because he just wants to
please you.
Bentley is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Bentley is able jump to 4 ft chain link
fence, but he only did it to play with the neighbor’s dog. Bentley is housetrained and crate trained,
although he isn’t always thrilled to go to his crate. He could probably be left uncrated once he has time
to acclimate to his new home.
