My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Polo! A very handsome pale yellow male with a bright smile and waggy tail!! He is 6 years old and was surrendered by his family to a shelter in NJ when they moved. When he came into rescue, he was extremely sick and underweigh, but with veterinary care and lots of TLC, he has made a huge turnaround in foster care where he is thriving!! (That's his foster mom in the pix.) Polo LOVES to retrieve balls and manages to put 2 or 3 in his mouth at one time!! He loves to carry his toys everywhere and enjoys hikes & walks or rides in the car, wherever his family goes. Most of all, Polo loves to cuddle, put his head in your lap or on your shoulder and fall asleep. His tail wags constantly now. Polo would do best in an experienced adult home-- one that would continue the training started by his foster home. Polo needs a home where there is a routine, clear boundaries and a confident experienced owner. Although Polo gets along with other dogs, his tie is most definitely to people. He would be happiest as an only dog (no kitties, please). Polo knows basic obedience commands is housebroken and of course loves the water!!
