Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Walter! We are guessing that Walter is about 10 years old (45 lbs, medium size), and is a senior Brittany-beagle-aussie blend. He was previously living in an abandoned house of a run-down section of Detroit. Lucky for Walter, rescue volunteers found him and rescued him from the cold winter.
Walter is a sweet, quiet and loyal dog. He will bark happily for meal times and to greet you. Walter’s favorite pastimes are to sleep on a dog bed beside you or at your feet, and to go for walks. He has an easy-going disposition, and is so grateful for any little thing you do for him. He wags his beautiful tail with a happy swoosh. He is very polite.
Walter just had a dental checkup and cleaning, and the veterinarian found him to be in wonderful good health. He certainly charmed the veterinary staff! Walter can climb a flight of stairs, although he takes his time.
Walter is deaf, but you wouldn’t otherwise notice, since he’s very perceptive. His deafness just means that Walter needs to be pottyed on a leash, or have a fenced yard to do his business. Plus, you can readily change his name and he won’t mind at all!
Walter is housetrained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm preventative.
Walter would be a wonderful companion for a older citizen or couple, in a quiet home.
If Walter sounds like the adoring, loyal companion for you, please fill out an adoption application at the New England Brittany Rescue website, www.nebrittanyrescue.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
