Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dixie’s adoption fee is $350.
Here is our sweet Dixie! She is approximately 4 years old and is spayed, micro chipped, her vaccines are up to date and she has also had a dental. Dixie weighs about 12 1/2 lbs.
Dixie was rescued by a Good Samaritan (bless you Pat!) from a back yard breeder. She was in very poor shape and had been horribly neglected. Her eyes were a mess and she must have been in quite a bit of pain. Sadly we could not save her left eye, and it was removed right away. Her right eye has done well with treatments. Dixie also had a very bad infection in her uterus from being bred so many times, and we had to have her shaved down, but her coat is now growing in so soft and silky.
Her tragic past is behind her now, and she is one happy little girl. Dixie may be a little shy in the beginning when meeting new humans, but warms up quickly when trust is felt. She is about 95% house trained now, but she does go out frequently during the day. A calm home where someone is around most of the time would be the best fit for Dixie. She is also crate trained. Dixie will need her remaining eye watched for any redness, and she still is on a very low dose of eye gel daily. This would cost about $ 20.00 monthly.
Dixie loves people and gets along well with other dogs, although she is always hoping to have your undivided attention. She is so happy in the morning and almost jumps all 4 paws off the ground in excitement. She loves being outside, running around and chasing her pals so would love a home with easy access to a fenced yard. She is also doing better walking on a leash (this was a new thing for her). Dixie displays such joy when you come home after being out, and she loves to cuddle on your lap at any opportunity –she’s just happy to be with her human. She will live a long life giving unwavering love and devotion, and is all ready to begin the next step in her journey to a new life.
