This precious little bundle of love is Izzy! She's about 5-6 years old, is spayed, current on her shots, microchipped and house trained & crate trained. She's getting used to the crate although she doesn't really need it as she's a good girl when left alone. She's a friendly girl who gets along nicely with the big dogs in her Foster Home, hasn't met any cats yet and is great with kids!
Izzy is a sweetheart who's happiest when she's with her people and she's like a little shadow, following her Foster Mom all over the house. She loves snuggling and her favorite place to hang out is on the back of the couch or on the arm of it, next to her favorite person. Her Foster Parents adore this little cutie and let her sleep in bed with them, which she loves! She happily sleeps on the pillows by their heads and it's so nice to see her adorable face first thing in the morning! She's an affectionate pup who gives the softest, sweetest kisses and she loves attention, especially head rubs & butt scratches! Her Foster Mom takes care of kids during the week and Izzy enjoys her time with them. She likes spending time with the kids who range from 2 years to 7 years old, takes naps with them, lets them hold her and it's so cute when they carry her around like a baby! She also loves snuggling with big dogs in the house and enjoys being with them!
A laid-back girl with a nice energy level, Izzy has moments when she's feeling frisky & playful. She doesn't play with toys but will try to get the big dogs to play with her. She has the cutest way of trying to get people to play. She'll jump at their hands or will hit them with a paw then run away, enticing them to chase her! It's adorable to watch!
Izzy is a very smart girl who learns pretty quick! She knows the commands Sit, Off & Stay and is working on Leave It and Lay Down. She'll cry to let her Foster Family know she has to go potty and if it's cold or wet outside, she needs a little nudge. She does need to be watched when someone's coming in & out of the house as she'll try to sneak out, especially if she has to potty so before taking her out, she's told to Sit & Stay to teach her she can't just run out the door. Since she tends to escape, her Forever Home's fence will need to make sure any small openings are closed off. She loves hot dogs & homemade peanut butter dog cookies so teaching this little munchkin new commands could be fun for all involved! When she's been a very good girl, her Foster Mom adds white rice & green beans to her dog food with a tiny bit of bacon grease, which makes Izzy one happy little lady! She walks fine on a leash but prefers to be a little diva and be carried in arms or in a dog purse. She doesn't mind getting bathed, and she enjoys car rides and is a good passenger. She hasn't been many places but recently visited her Foster Mom's Family to meet some other Yorkies and had the time of her life! Izzy's former life wasn't easy, she lived with a Labrador Retriever who would attack her daily & wouldn't let her eat her dinner so if her Forever Family has other dogs, it'd be best to give her time to adjust, telling her No or that it's okay when a dog comes near her food and she growls. It happened the first day at her Foster Home and they handled it immediately and all has been fine with them since.
Izzy will be a wonderful addition to any Family and she can't wait to be loved and cuddled for the rest of her life! Please email us at ThepastRescue@gmail.com or fill out an
