Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Skipper!
Skipper is a male Pomeranian mix, about 6-7 years old, who came to us as a stray. He would be a great dog for a family, retired person, or just about anyone!
Skipper seems to enjoy the company of just about every human he meets, older kids included, although he can be kind of aloof when first meeting you, and likes to play hard-to-catch when it comes time to go back in the kennel. He doesn’t seem to be a fan of other dogs, although he might get along fine with the right canine housemate (he’s only been around large dogs here at the shelter, so he might be just fine with another small pooch).
Compared to other small breeds like him, Skipper’s not much of a snuggler or attention-seeker, but he is quite adorable and spunky, and boy does he know it! He loves to spin in circles for treats, and spins when he gets really excited. He loves long walks and does very well on-leash, loves to run and laze in the sun, and is very sniffy and curious about the world around him (although he’s somewhat shy in new environments, until he gets comfortable).
The vet recommends that Skipper’s new family put him on a raw food diet, or perhaps use supplements, as he has some minor flaky skin issues that seem to be diet-related. He could also use a little dental work in the future. Other than that, Skipper is happy, healthy, and ready to find his new forever home!
So stop into C.A.R.E.S. and meet Skipper today!
