My name is Ruffy!
Well that is my name now; it is what my foster family calls me. I was left at the pound by my family in November because they had no more time for me. I was left in quite a horrible state – all matted, not fixed and a horrible infection in my mouth that had been there for quite some time festering.
Thankfully the kind volunteers at CAA came to rescue me and I have been in foster care healing and getting stronger and healthier every day the whole month of December and then I went to Animal 911 vet again for a complete dental extraction, neuter and micro chip. Please don’t feel sorry for me! I am really happy now not to have pain in my mouth daily for horrible rotten teeth and while extra accommodations need to be considered for my healthy diet otherwise it is life as usual for me!
CAA volunteers also got me to the groomer where I got all cleaned up and a new hair cut!
I am not completely house trained; while I will ask for the door and will do my business when we are outside together I still will have accidents in the home usually when you leave me alone due to my anxiety but I am getting better because you can teach this doggie new tricks ;)
I absolutely adore my walks and I am the perfect gentleman on the leash
I am more suited for a house than apartment life for the simple reason that I can be vocal when left alone. I would not want to move to my new forever home in an apartment only to be returned back to rescue because of my mild separation anxiety. I am left free in the home uncrated and have been alone for up to 7 hours but usually my daily routine is a 3 hour home alone stay.
I am dog, people and child friendly but have not been tested with cats
I do well in the car and again I was not crated, I just really want to be with my family going everywhere you go and doing everything you are doing
I show absolutely no signs of food aggression or toy possession in foster care
I do love to give kisses and show my belly for pets! Snuggling and watching TV with you are most favorite things to do. I respond to commands in both French and English so it just goes to show what a smart little man I am! My foster family should have named me Shadow though because I do love to follow them everywhere they go
