12/11/14 Nitra is now ready for adoption! Our Little Miss Nitra has been with us since June. She came to us from a local shelter with temporal eyelid agenesis which if left untreated would lead to blindness due to chronic corneal abrasion. Nitra has recovered from her cryosurgery at Northstar and it was successful! At six months old now, she is a medium haired torti with a beautiful white tipped tail. She is laid back and loving. She rolls over on command and is learning to sit on command. She is one of a kind and is ready for her forever home! Please contact joasarc@gmail.com if you are willing to love her forever. 09/08/14 At 12 weeks old, Little Miss Nitra saw Dr. Vygantas at NorthStar Vets today. Her diagnosis is temporal eyelid agenesis bilaterally with capsular cataracts. She will need cryosurgery to remove hair follicles to prevent chronic corneal abrasions that will lea...d to vision loss. Hopefully one procedure will fix it but it is not uncommon to require two procedures. Surgical procedures to rebuild her eyelids have a huge failure rate and no one procedure has been proven to work. With cryosurgery, she will no longer experience the pain of the hair rubbing in her eyes. Dr. Vygantas stated it was one of worse cases she has seen. Nitra was an angel during her exam! We will be scheduling surgery soon so she can be pain free.

Nitra will be ready for adoption after her spay and eye surgery is complete. She is great with dogs, cats and loves people. Little Miss Nitra is a princess and is awaiting someone to worship her forever.
