Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Scout, a healthy, happy, one-year old pure bred beagle male. Scout came to us from a family who no longer wanted him because he is not a hunter, he prefers the rug in front of the fireplace. He was confused at first because he was quite happy with them but he adapted to his foster home quickly. Scout is a gentle, friendly dog who learns quickly and loves to please, there is not a dominant bone in his body. Scout does not chew anything but his own toys, he sleeps in his own bed next to his foster parents' bed, and rarely barks but his foster family loves his rare baying. He enjoys playtime by himself and with the other foster dogs but we don't have any idea how he is with cats. He loves people young and old, enjoys a cuddle, and walks very well on a leash. He is fully housebroken, neutered and up to date on shots. Scout would do well in any family setting, but he would be a great dog for an active, older couple who want to spoil a dog.
Anyone wanting to adopt a dog from the RARFS is expected to fill out an adoption application, provide references, sign an adoption contract, agree to a home visit, and finally to pay and adoption fee. Families who rent must provide a letter from their landlord stating that they are allowed to have a dog. Once the application is received, references checked, and a home visit completed, families can take their new family member home. We have a no questions asked return policy should a dog be returned.
Scout’s adoption fee is $100. We prefer that families come and pick up their new family member, but a licensed pet transport is available. Should we need to transport Scout to his new home, you will need to pay $150 to the transport company. For more information on Scout, please contact Louise Vande Wiele at louisevdew@gmail.com
