Hi! I'm Spotty, and I am almost a year old American Staffordshire Terrier/Dachshund blend. A homeless man abandoned me at a veterinary clinic in Ocean Beach, and one of the veterinarians there fixed my cuts and neutered me and made sure that I was free of parasites. The veterinarian brought me home to help train me and find my forever home; she already has two pit bulls and five cats, so I need my own home, soon!

I am HIGHLY intelligent and have mastered several tricks--sit, stay, and down so far. I am currently in training with an awesome dog trainer, and I sure hope I can continue to practice my skills once I am adopted. I am good on a leash with appropriate direction, and I need a strong owner who will continue to guide me in the right direction.

I do well with laid-back, medium-to-large dogs, but not so well with smaller or highly excitable dogs. Cats and small children make me a little nervous, so I would do best in a calm home without cats or small children.

I LOVE PLAYING FETCH, although I occasionally have a rescue guarding issue that causes scuffles between me and other dogs.
