Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We found Sammy sitting on death row in a high kill shelter for no reason other than overcrowding. We knew we had to act fast once we heard this beautiful boy was in danger and with the help of volunteer drivers, Sammy was brought to the safety of A.H.A.R.T.
Sammy came into the high kill shelter as a stray. Aside from our experience with him, we do not know of his past. He does know some basic commands and is extremely friendly, so we do believe he had a home at some point. What happened to that home, sadly, is unknown and Sammy is now searching for his forever family.
Sammy is a playful, happy and energetic young dog who would love to find someone to call his own. Sammy is full of character and beans! He is goofy, affectionate and fun-loving. Sammy loves to be outside, whether it is for a good game of fetch, a walk, run or just relaxing and taking in his surroundings. He does have a lot of "get up and go" so he will need to be regularly exercised. He would make a great running partner or an ideal candidate for someone looking to get into agility training.
Sammy would be fine on his own or adopted into a home with another playful dog. Sammy is good with children, however, he is still learning manners and not to jump up when greeting people, so older children or teenagers would be best. Sammy is quiet in the home and used to being crated, so he would be fine for apartment living as long as his exercise needs were getting met. He would also be more than happy with a nice backyard to run around and play in.
Once you meet Sammy, you will surely fall in love--be it with his sometimes floppy ears, his bunny hopping run, his gorgeous amber eyes or his affectionate kisses and cuddles. Sammy is a gem and is just waiting for his new best friend.
If you would like Sammy to be a part of your home, please submit an adoption application through the website. www.almosthometeam.com
